The Portable Weather Station features small size, portability, easy installation and operation, enabling meteorological element monitoring anytime and anywhere.
The new ultrasonic sensor plays an important role in the Portable Weather Station. Traditional meteorological sensors, such as mechanical anemometers, rely on mechanical rotating components to sense wind speed, which have many drawbacks. In harsh weather conditions like sandstorms, rain and snow, mechanical components are prone to erosion, resulting in wear and even failure, thus affecting measurement accuracy and service life. The new ultrasonic sensor has obvious advantages. It measures wind speed and direction by utilizing the characteristic that the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves in the air is affected by wind speed. Inside the device, the ultrasonic sensor accurately measures the time difference of ultrasonic waves propagating in the downwind and upwind directions, and calculates the wind speed and direction values using mathematical algorithms such as trigonometric functions. Since there are no mechanical rotating parts, the new ultrasonic sensor will not have wear problems, which is equivalent to extending its service life.
In addition to measuring wind speed and direction, the sensor is also integrated with various types of sensors such as temperature, humidity and air pressure, and quickly transmits the data to the data processing unit.
