This firefighting infrared thermal imager features a 384×288 pixel infrared detector and a 60Hz high-frame-rate display. It supports eight image modes and a 600-meter laser rangefinder, complies with the new XF/T 635-2023 national standard, and boasts an IP67 protection rating to ensure stable operation in the harsh environments of a fire scene.
The greatest challenge firefighters face upon entering a fire scene is not the open flames themselves, but the loss of visibility caused by dense smoke. Traditional lighting tools create a "veiling glare" effect in thick smoke, further obstructing the view. By detecting infrared radiation emitted from object surfaces and converting temperature distribution into visual images, this thermal imager penetrates smoke to reveal the outlines of heat sources without relying on visible light. Equipped with a 384×288 pixel infrared detector and a 12-micron pixel pitch, the device can distinguish the outlines of trapped individuals from high-temperature objects against complex backgrounds. A 60Hz frame rate ensures a smooth, blur-free image even when firefighters are moving quickly, facilitating real-time assessment of the fire's progression.
The device features a display screen of 3.5 inches or larger with adjustable brightness and offers over eight image modes, including White Hot, Black Hot, Firefighting, Fire, Search and Rescue, Picture-in-Picture, Visible Light, and Fusion. Firefighters can rapidly switch modes based on the specific rescue scenario, simplifying operation and allowing them to focus on the rescue mission itself. Regarding temperature measurement, the device covers a range of -40°C to 1200°C, features a Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference (NETD) of no more than 50mK, and operates in the 8–14μm wavelength range. It supports 2x and 4x digital zoom, allows for quick switching between infrared and visible light modes, and offers a visible light resolution exceeding 5 megapixels.
The functional configuration of this firefighting infrared thermal imager fully addresses the demands of real-world firefighting operations. A laser pointer helps firefighters mark target locations in dark environments, while an electronic compass provides directional reference. A hot/cold spot tracking function automatically locks onto the highest and lowest temperatures across the screen, simultaneously displaying these extremes alongside the center-point temperature. The laser rangefinder has a range exceeding 600 meters, measuring and displaying the straight-line distance between the device and the target. The unit supports on-device real-time viewing and deletion of captured images and videos, facilitating on-site documentation and post-incident review.
Reliability in extreme heat is a critical benchmark for firefighting equipment. This device operates continuously for over 30 minutes at 80°C, over 10 minutes at 120°C, and over 5 minutes at 260°C. It features an IP67 ingress protection rating, meets 2-meter drop test requirements, and is equipped with shock-absorbing protective mechanisms. The product fully complies with the national standard XF/T 635-2023, "Infrared Thermal Imagers for Firefighting."
The top of the unit features a metal hook and a retractable tether, allowing the imager to be worn on the chest for quick access; the tether has a vertical load capacity exceeding 20 kg. The total weight, including the battery, is under 800 grams, and dimensions are within 205mm × 110mm × 80mm. Powered by a detachable lithium battery, the device offers a runtime of over 4 hours per charge; both the unit and the battery feature Type-C ports, supporting both in-device and direct battery charging. With an operating temperature range exceeding -20°C to 60°C, it is suitable for firefighting and rescue operations across most regions of my country.
