In the cold winter, transmission lines often face severe challenges of icing. When conditions such as low temperature, high humidity, and specific wind speed occur simultaneously, the phenomenon of icing on transmission lines is likely to form. Line icing not only increases the mechanical load on conductors, insulator strings, and transmission towers, leading to line damage and tower collapse, but also reduces the insulation strength, triggering insulator string flashover and causing line grounding tripping, seriously threatening the safe and stable operation of the power system.
In order to avoid or reduce the hazards caused by icing, various preventive measures have been taken. For example, when selecting the route, it is necessary to avoid areas prone to severe icing as much as possible; improve the safety standards of line design to enhance the ice resistance; consider using large current de-icing during operation, and so on. These methods have certain limitations. For instance, large current de-icing is difficult to be applied to extra-high voltage lines with large capacity and large conductors, and increasing the design standards will lead to a sharp rise in costs. Therefore, real-time and accurate monitoring of the icing situation of transmission lines is crucial for taking effective de-icing measures in a timely manner and ensuring power supply.
The Icing monitoring system is an intelligent device used for real-time monitoring of the icing situation of transmission lines. Taking the microwave Icing monitoring system of transmission lines with the model FT-SDJB1 as an example, this device can be installed without power outage. It uses microwave detection technology combined with temperature analysis to achieve real-time monitoring of the icing conditions of various types of transmission towers, insulators, transmission lines, etc. The sensors of the system can monitor the icing information in the sensitive area based on the differences in the feedback signals of different substances such as ice, water, and air, and calculate the icing thickness according to the signal strength and icing distribution information. Alarm values can be set according to different icing thicknesses. Once the icing thickness reaches the preset threshold, an icing alarm signal will be issued, and the data will be transmitted to the background through wireless networks such as 4G.
The FT-SDJB1 can not only accurately measure the icing thickness, with a maximum measurement thickness of 30.00mm and a detection resolution of 0.01mm, but also conduct real-time online monitoring of various parameters such as wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, optical rainfall, and total radiation in the area of the transmission tower, and automatically store and upload the data. Through the comprehensive analysis of these data, the icing hazards can be evaluated timely and accurately, providing a basis for decision-making for operation and maintenance personnel, so as to start the de-icing system in time and effectively ensure the safe operation of the lines.

In outdoor natural settings such as dense forests, mountain streams, vast rivers, lakes and seas, and around rushing waterfalls, people often feel the air is exceptionally fresh. The key reason behind this is that the air in these places contains a sufficient amount of negative oxygen ions. Essentia...
